Bruce Springsteen was born on 23 September 1949 and has been nicknamed “The Boss”. He is a popular American hero. His tours and records happen with the E Street Band. Springsteen is very famous because he portrays a typical American sentiment. His songs are of the genre of heartland rock which is infused with poetic lyrics and pop hooks. They also show Americana mentality that has revolved around New Jersey which was his native place.
There has been a lot of oscillation in his albums from the commercial rock to the honest folk. Marathon shows coupled with a lot of concerts form the base of his popularity. The E Street Band and he perform intense song rituals in these gatherings that consist of rousing rhythms, emotional lyrics and intense ballads.

His album The Rising portrays the trauma that came with these attacks.
During his long career, Springsteen has earned a lot of awards that reflect the depth of his popularity. His awards include 19 Grammies, an Academy Award and two Golden Globes. Around 65 million albums have been sold in USA alone. Worldwide the figure crosses 120 million. Springsteen continues to have a strong fan base till date.
Springsteen had a brief married life when he married ten years younger Julianne Philips on 13 May 1985 and then had a divorce. The divorce happened because he was having an affair with Patti Scialfa who had joined the band.
